Teaching Staff

All 45+ Morris Allen teachers are trained native English speakers. They are selected based on their dedication, passion and qualifications as English specialists and all are registered with the Ministry of Education to teach the English language.

Joan Cradock (Cert Tchg, RR Cert)
Annex Head

Joan is from Christchurch, New Zealand where she taught for many years in different schools. With her husband Greg, she also found 18 months teaching in England both interesting and rewarding.

Now in her fourth year at MAE, Joan really enjoys living and teaching in Singapore. She always creates a stimulating environment in which the children can learn best.

Stephanie Thompson (MA, BA, Dip Ed)

Stephanie comes to MAE from Sydney, Australia, where she has been teaching English and Drama to a wide range of students from pre-school to adults. Having just completed her Masters Degree, with a major in Children's Literature, she is keen to apply her knowledge in the classroom in Singapore. Stephanie has a real passion for teaching and students will benefit greatly from her enthusiasm and expertise.

Danny Nuku (B.Ed, Dip B.S, Cert. S.S)

Danny came to Bishan branch of MAE in 2010 from Auckland, New Zealand. After an early career in the military, he had spent many years teaching both English and performing arts. A popular teacher in our MAE school holiday programmes, Danny is looking forward to sharing his enthusiasm and skills with the Parkway students.

Rod Brown (BA, Dip Ed)

Rod is an Australian teacher with more than 25 years of experience teaching in both P-12 and secondary schools. His wider experience has also included organising national sporting competitions and overseas tours.

Having enjoyed visiting Singapore on many occasions, Rod is enjoying his time here working with Singapore students, who respond favourably to his 'down to earth' approach.

Trudi Sterling

Trudi comes to Singapore from KL, where she has been teaching at our new Empire Gallery Centre. Prior to that, she was teaching in a college in York, UK, after having already spent many years working in enrichment centres in Singapore. Trudi has had wide experience working with children of all levels from pre-school to secondary. Her awareness of the needs of local students, her friendly and approachable nature, and encouraging manners makes her a popular choice with both parents and students.
